Have your plans scanned & digitised

Paper plans are one-of-a-kind – and therein lies their risk. A single copy in the plan cabinet means: no parallel use, no quick access, no protection against water damage or loss. We convert your construction plans, technical drawings and maps into high-quality digital files that your whole team can work with at the same time.

Which plan formats we scan

Our large-format scanners handle all common formats from A4 to A0 as well as oversize formats and oversize lengths, as are typical for utility line plans or facade elevations. Whether your plans are rolled, folded or filed in folders makes no difference: we flatten folded plans before scanning and digitise bound plan sets gently, without destroying the binding – if that is what you wish. Old blueprints, transparencies and yellowed originals are also part of our everyday work; fragile items are placed by hand and transported at reduced speed.

Resolution and file formats: the right choice

You choose between 200, 300 and 400 dpi. For most construction plans, 300 dpi is the best compromise between detail and file size. We scan fine technical drawings with thin lines and tight hatching at 400 dpi, so that even the smallest details remain clearly distinguishable. As output formats we deliver PDF as standard, on request PDF/A for audit-proof long-term archiving, TIFF as a lossless master format or multi-page files that bundle related plans – for example all the floors of a property – in a single file.

Black and white, greyscale or colour?

We digitise pure line plans cost-effectively in black and white. As soon as coloured markings, stamps or handwritten annotations matter – typical of revised as-built plans – a colour scan is advisable: only then does it remain traceable which change was made by whom. Greyscale is the right choice for tinted originals and plans with area rasters.

File naming: order from day one

On request, we name your files exactly according to your scheme: by plan number, building, floor or your existing archive list. This way the collection fits seamlessly into your filing system or CAFM, without you having to rename a single file by hand – and you find the plan you are looking for through a clear filing structure rather than from memory.

Frequently asked questions about scanning plans

At what resolution do you scan?

Optionally 200, 300 or 400 dpi. For most construction plans 300 dpi is ideal; we scan fine technical drawings at 400 dpi so that even the thinnest lines are preserved cleanly.

Which plan formats can you process?

All common formats from A4 to A0 as well as oversized and overlength sheets. Rolled, folded or slightly damaged plans are no problem either – fragile originals are fed by hand.

Can the files be named according to my scheme?

Yes. Provide us with a list or a naming scheme – for example by plan number, building or folder spine – and we name every file exactly accordingly. You choose this option directly in the price calculator.

Do you also scan stapled or bound documents?

Yes. We unstaple stapled dossiers for scanning and restore the original state afterwards as far as possible. Bound documents are digitised gently, without damaging the binding, if that is your wish.
